Chef Lynda Ross
Owner, President

lindaHer passion for cooking began at the age of five. Growing up in France, she spent her summers on her grandmother’s farm in Saujon, near Bordeaux. It was by her grandmother’s side that she learned to utilize the organic fruits and vegetables. Lynda continued to work with food while serving at the Playboy Club in downtown Chicago. Before she knew it, she quickly ascended to become General Manager and Director of Operations for a number of restaurants.As a working mother, Lynda was not always able to cook dinner for her three wonderful children. So, before she left for work in the morning she would prepare fresh, wholesome meals for her family. These meals were delicately packaged, labeled, and neatly placed in the refrigerator or freezer for her family to reheat later.This is when her vision for Rent-A-Chef began. With over 30 years of managing, running, and developing restaurants, Lynda wanted her own company doing something she was passionate about…cooking. In 1999 she started Rent-A-Chef, a personal chef service cooking for families as if they were her own.

She bases her cooking philosophy on the fresh, healthy, and delicious ingredients she has used to prepare meals throughout her entire life, bringing her culture, experiences, and motherly love into each one of her dishes.


Chef Daniel Harms
Executive Chef

danielWhile growing up in France, Daniel entered the food industry as a dishwasher when he was a young teenager. He worked his way up to becoming Executive Chef and Senior Vice President of various restaurants, hotels, and clubs all over America, gaining over 30 years of experience under his belt. Within that time he served in the United States Air Force for eight years, was also an Executive Chef for the Officer’s Club, as well as an instructor for the United States Intelligence Training School. Stationed in Southeast Asia he not only learned about the culture, but the cuisine. Daniel returned to his passion and place in the kitchen after he was honorably discharged and awarded with a bronze star. With all of his experiences and deliciously creative menus, he has undoubtedly deserved with nickname "Chef," which is what we all lovingly call him.
